Become an Animal Turn Fellow
I am delighted to announce a call for folks who are interested in helping to grow the Animal Turn podcast. I am looking for three people who are interested in animal studies and are curious about how media and podcasting operate. I am seeking individuals who can commit to at least a four month virtual fellowship (Aug-Dec 2023) which will include bi-weekly/monthly meetings. The number of hours you work will be based on your schedule and what you feel comfortable committing to. I understand that fellows have other commitments and will likely also be studying or working elsewhere so we will create goals based on your interests and time availability.
My hope is that we can foster a small Animal Turn community whereby we can support each other and our related research interests while at the same time helping to build the Animal Turn Podcast. This is, unfortunately, an unpaid fellowship, but I can offer the following:
An opportunity to create a ten-part "Animal Highlight" based on your research interests in which I can train you how to develop a script and record a mini-podcast.
Basic training on how to regulate your voice when presenting online or via radio.
Basic training on how to edit audio files.
Basic guidance on how to start your own podcast should this be of interest to you.
Mentorship on your own research project and goals.
What kind of activities can you expect to be involved in?
If it is of interest to you, recording your own Animal Highlights
Helping to write blog entries based on existing podcast content and your own research interests
Helping to develop Quick Clips and videos for Instagram and tik tok
Bi-weekly/Monthly meetings with other Animal Turn fellows to discuss your research interests and goals
I have a couple more ideas and I am sure you do too!
I am currently looking for three fellows. If you are interested in becoming a fellow please send your CV and a one page cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 31st of July 2023. Your cover letter should state your time availability, why you would like to be become a fellow, and the ways in which you would like to contribute to the podcast.
I look forward to receiving your application.
